Here's a quadruple threat artist that I've been waiting to feature for quite some time now. I've been patiently waiting for an album from Tish, but her life is being maneuvered down another path that is equally as exciting. Tish is a singer, rapper, TV concept writer, publisher and songwriter who was recently signed to Universal Music Publishing Group! When I first heard Tish's voice on the Fallen Star record I was hooked and instantly knew she has IT. Tish has worked and is rocking with some of the best and biggest names in the industry and she's mos def making everyone listen. Tish has put in work to be where she is today and deserves every bit of recognition and success! This is going to be a BIG year for her and I can't wait to hear more from Tish! To get to know Tish a bit better get into the conversation we had below and as always...

Really Not Radio: Listen2Tish huh? So, what is it that you want to tell us...We're all ears and ready to listen lol
Tish: Listen2tish Is exactly what I want people to do. I am very creative. I write music , tv show concepts , marketing concepts and i want every one to listen. I was always an influential person. Hence listen2tish. I want people to listen to everything i have to say.
RNR: Ohhhh kaay I heard that! You are now living in sunny southern california, more specifically, Los Angeles, but you're from New York. If you ask me you've lived in two of the greatest cities in the U.S. How does the music scene compare between the two?
Tish: I am from the BRONX New York but the music scene has moved to LA. While there are still producers in NY, majority of songwriters and producers have moved here. I follow the work. I also LOVE Hollywood And the fact that marijuana is not a drug but a medicine. LOVE THAT.
RNR: Haaaa okay, the perks of living in Cali! You sing wonderfully, rap like a boss and you're a songwriter/publisher. When and how did you get into music?
Tish: My start in singing began at age 6, My mom loved to sing and she shared that love with myself and siblings. I always sang Frankie Lymon and the Teenager's "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" And Dionne Warwicks " that's what friends are for". My sister was more the vocalist at that time which led me to rapping. I learned to rap from my other brother. That was my first choice for many years after. I got into the music business years later.
RNR: Out of the three what do you enjoy the most?
Tish: Ten Years ago I would have said I'll never be a singer just a rapper who wrote songs. Now I can say I love singing. I have been through a lot and it seems when i sing it comes through and people really identify and feel the passion.
RNR: I've been hitting you up for awhile now to see when I can get my ears on an album because the first time I heard that Fallen Star joint I just had to get more! However, I see that you are more focused on songwriting now being signed with Universal Music Publishing Group. Congratulations on that by the way. I guess my question is how did you get to where you are today? Was it hard work, who you know, luck? I know many aspiring songwriters would love to hear your story?
Tish: My story is long but I'll give you the short. That saying it takes TEN years to become an overnight success is very true when it comes to me. It was in no way easy.. It was a long hard walk to this point. I was focused, I loved my music and I really could die at the thought of failure which is why i refuse to fail.
RNR: Yep, the thought of failure would definitely keep you motivated. Is songwriting a gift or do you have to practice and work at it to be great?
Tish: I think songwriting is a bit of both, Gift and practice.
RNR: Where do you find yourself writing most of the time? Is it after a wild night of partying lol a day spent by yourself, in the studio, after a new experience??? I'm curious...
Tish: I write whatever comes to mind and where ever but mostly in the studio.
RNR: How do YOU know when you wrote a hit?
Tish: You never know when you wrote a hit until its a hit. But you can write a song that you know sounds good.
RNR: What keeps you inspired?
Tish: LIFE is my daily source of inspiration. Other peoples lives. As long as i wake up im inspired. Heartbreak helped me a lot.
RNR: Ahhh yes, that good ole heartbreak. Heartbreak begets the best material! What's a typical day like for you?
Tish: Typical Day... Wake up round 12pm ... shower bout 1. Video games ( call of duty) till bout 3:00 then off to the studio from 4 until. wake up do it again.
RNR: Sounds like that GOOD LIFE to me ;-) I know you love good food. What's your favorite spot to eat in LA? In NYC?
Tish: hmm I love to eat at Los Balcones on Vine Near sunset...I love The Oaks Gourmet Deli and My fav Sushi spot Is Sushi Ran.
RNR: You've worked with quite a few artists what has been your best or most memorable session to-date?
Tish: hmm memorable session was with Polow Da Don... We did a song called All My Lifetime ... Its pretty much about my last break up.. I literally broke down crying during recording and it sounded amazing .. Wish you guys could hear it. Polow Is an amazing producer btw.
RNR: Wow! Sounds like a great moment. I wish I could hear it!!! Where do you see yourself and what are some of your accomplishments you hope to achieve in the next two years?
Tish: Def see myself getting a couple grammys next year... maybe even having my Tv Show picked up. Def have a couple number 1's under my belt.
RNR: You'll get it...hard work pays off ALWAYS! What's one piece of advice you would give to those who aspire to be in your shoes one day?
Tish: If you want to be in my shoes.. Be prepared for Pain.. lol No forget my shoes.. if you want to be successful work hard. Be good to everyone you meet and build the right relationships.. Relationships are really key.
RNR: I hear that time and time again that building relationships truly are key to it all. What upcoming projects should we be on the lookout for and how can the viewers keep in touch with all things Tish?
Tish: I have a bunch of stuff im working on but I'll let you in on 1! Interscope Recording Artist Ahsan Watts!! He is amazing and i have written most of his records! http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=kXW1ucmmUD4 THIS KID IS GOING TO BLOW YOU AWAY!!
