If you've sought out or even just did a simple google search on the Mayan culture you would have discovered that 2012 will not be the end of times. Mayans believe that when one period or era ends a new one begins. They believe in renewal and continuation, and I feel like there is shift in hip-hop music and music period. It's a time of renewal and with Timothy Rhyme's "Vintage" album it's another reminder that Hip-Hop is NOT dead. Vintage is his 3rd album release, but his first project under the name Timothy Rhyme. His first collaboration on an album with one producer who goes by the moniker Phil the Pain. Personally, I think working with one producer makes for a solid project, and this album makes a statement all the way through with the thought-provoking lyrics of a person determined to improve continually to the smoothed out head-knocking beats. Vintage has features from Blu, Chaundon, Mega Trife, KomplexOne, Matthew Lowe, A.M.I.T.S, Jeff Kongpachit, Blazee, Destruct, EQ , Keno and last but not least Rymeezee. I personally relate to Vintage sooo much because I always say continual self-improvement is my movement, which to me and clearly to Timothy Rhyme as well, means to everyday just focus on growth in thought, in relationships, with goals and professionally. Not becoming complacent and always focused on the next level of this thing we call life. Vintage is that pleasant reminder to keep your mind on mo'!
